<body-html>
The month of December is considered by many the most important time of the year. The most likely reason is the fact that Jesus’ birth, Christmas Day, is celebrated during the month of December.

Christmas is interesting not only because it represents the birth of Jesus Christ and the religion of Christianity, but also because it has derived so far from its original roots.

IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR CORRECT EMAIL ADDRESS ON THE CHECKOUT PAGE. YOUR PRAYER HELPER WILL SEND YOU A PRIVATE EMAIL ABOUT YOUR PRAYER REQUEST SOON AFTER YOU PLACE YOUR SECURE ORDER WITH PAYPAL.

Think about the first Christmas for a moment. Jesus’ parents, Joseph and the virgin Mary traveled many miles to reach a manger in Bethlehem. Jesus Christ was essentially born next to farm animals in a quiet city during a quiet night. Talk about quite the birth for the future King of mankind.

We all know the story of the first Christmas and despite how many times it is told, we continue to enjoy it like the first time, every time we hear it. It’s such a special story because it’s unique. It’s the beginning of something so great yet something that very few people may have realized at the time.

I’m not even sure Joseph and Marry knew exactly what they were getting into. The Shepherds were drawn by a star and the three wise men had some gut instinct that something special was occurring in foreign lands.

That was it. Sure the heavens were rejoicing like it was New Years Eve but on planet earth, Jesus had a rather quiet and humble beginning.

What is humble or quiet about Christmas in modern day society? Companies rush to force feed Christmas commercials down our throats as soon as Halloween is over. Consumers in the United States alone spend billions of dollars every year on Christmas gifts. Large sums of food and sweets are purchased to wet our appetite. Santa and Rudolph fill the imaginations on little children’s heads.

Nothing remains truly sacred, quiet, or special about Christmas if you compare it to the original Christmas. The true celebration has been somewhat compromised and even church celebrations on Christmas Eve have lost a little of their zeal.

Let’s all join together, hand in hand, and say a prayer for Christmas.

I would like to ask, if not beg our society to bring back some of the wholesomeness and purity of Christmas. I would like for us as a society to focus less on the gifts and gift giving and more on Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. I would like to remove those moods of anxiety, frustration, or irritation common in December. I would like for us to open up our eyes and realize that God never intended for any of those emotions to exist near or on his son’s birthday.

I want us to say a special prayer for Christmas. May we lead back to the roots of Christmas day? May we celebrate the man and not the day? May we turn away from our greedy and materialistic ways?

Say a special prayer for Christmas. Thank the Lord for continuing to show up and never leaving us behind nor forsaking us. Thank God that he allowed his one and only son to enter earth through as a baby – a child who would later grow into a man and impact our world like no one before or after him. Thank the Lord that Jesus came and died for our sins. While Christmas day is reserved for celebration, it would not be much longer until Jesus died on a cross and on the third day rose again. Thank you God that the whole reason we celebrate Christmas to this day is for the fact that Jesus Christ was no ordinary man. We all know that years later he would die and resurrect into heaven. Our God lives!

Say a special prayer for Christmas. Pray that families unite, fellowship, and enjoy time together. Pray for safe travels without worry. Pray for those broken families who have not spent time together for several years now. Pray that forgiveness would become abundant and love would seep through those broken hearts.

While Christmas is a time for celebration, there are many others our on the outside looking in. Pray for healing and support in this time of need. Pray that Christmas would bring others who do not know Christ into the Kingdom of God.
</body-html>
