Prayer for Family
Home is where the family is and God is where the family should turn. We all have a special place reserved in our hearts for our family. We are both physically and emotionally drawn to these people. Sure we all contain different personalities or traits, but at the end of the day we have a family and no one can take that away from us.
I want to encourage each and every one of you to take charge and dominion over your family. I would like to encourage you to become the spiritual leader of the family. I would like to encourage you to become the prayer warrior of your household, one who constantly seeks prayer for family.

God intended the man of each and every household to not only take up the leadership role of the family, but also to take up the leadership role of spirituality. Unfortunately many families lack the spiritual leader because the man is unwilling, feels ill-equipped, or doesn’t even know Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
I also believe that anyone, and I mean anyone, can take up the leadership role when it’s lacking or non-existent. Some may not agree with that statement but turn to the bible. Were the heroes – the saints, apostles, and disciples all great leaders? Of course they were. But take a look at these men and women before they became saints, apostles, or disciples. They were all average day people like you and I. They were not special or students of some special leadership school. They were actually people often looked down upon by society. The world deemed them incapable or unable to reach any special level of success or personal accomplishment.
But God looks at the heart and not the outward appearance.
What an amazing God we serve. Can I get a hallelujah? Can I get someone to shout out and say, “Yes God, You are Awesome!” Isn’t it wonderful that we serve a God who looks at the heart and not the appearance? Isn’t it wonderful our God rewards based on faith and not on what we do or accomplish? Isn’t it wonderful that we can make mistakes and not suffer horribly for them?
There is not a God like Jesus Christ.
He’s the “alpha and omega,” “the beginning and end,” “the one who is and is to come.”
Jesus takes unassuming people and makes them great leaders of men. I encourage you to become a leader of your household. I encourage you to become the prayer warrior, the family spokesperson, who has special prayers for the family. God doesn’t care if you are the oldest or youngest person in the family. He doesn’t care if you are a man or a woman. He’s looking for leaders, mighty people of faith willing to take up their sword and join his army. Are you going to fight or stay back like a coward? Are you going to speak up for what’s right? Are you going to represent your family as a great man or woman of God?
Everyday you should say a prayer for family. Thank the Lord for these special individuals in your life. Pray as a Father or Mother that you lead and raise your children with hearts and minds set towards God. Pray as a Son or Daughter that you remain obedient to your parent’s word. Pray that you learn and seek their wisdom. Pray that you may become a leader of your generation much like becoming a leader of your household. Pray that God continues to provide for your family through good fortune and health.
God wants to use you and he’s ready to use you now. Do not let status, gender, or age stand as hindrances. They are senseless barriers that are designed to be broken. God has great plans for you. Every man and every woman is more than worthy and more than able to do some truly special things. God is talking to you and to your family. Prayer for family should allow time to open up and allow God to speak to the entire family and specific members in general.
Prayer for family is a special bond you share with your family members. If the entire family is not Christian, seek others to help pray for that particular family member and pray that someday he or she comes to know the Lord. Pray for any physical or emotional pains specific to a family member as well.
